Burning plants will typically create black ashes but the byproducts you get from vaporizing marijuana will usually turn to brown instead. There is a high concentration of active compounds found in cannabis trichomes which will burst when the marijuana is being vaporized. If you look at the end result with a microscope you will see that it looks like it got flattened.
Remains
After the marijuana is vaporized the remains might have a bit of THC in it still. There are a lot of cannabinoids found in marijuana plants and there is also a chance that some of them are still found in the remains when the vaporization is complete.
There are various ways you can extract the remaining cannabinoids. Those options would include creating a tincture, vaporizing it again, or cooking it. There are health issues with doing so though so it’s best to not bother doing so unless you have to. Whatever marijuana is left once vaporized can be used with ethyl alcohol (like Everclear) to make a very strong tincture. If you choose to make this then be sure you understand the process and risks before attempting to do this.
