This type of vaporizer will use convection to create heat and turn the marijuana from solid form to cannabis vapor. The way convection vaporizers work is a bit different then conduction vaporizers but just like any other type of vaporizer it has its’ flaws. There are many advantages and disadvantages to using convection vaporizers but it’s a matter of deciding if the advantages outweigh the disadvantages or not.
How it Works
The marijuana gets put into a heat resistant container and the container gets put into the chamber of the vaporizer. This particular type of vaporizer also has a fan or pump which is a part of the heating device. This will make hot air flow inside the chamber and eventually it will heat your marijuana. The distribution of heat from this method is fairly efficient and usually heats all through your marijuana.
Usually convection vaporizers can maintain a reasonable temperature without any issues and are rather reliable. Convection vaporizers either come with a whip or a bag fill setup. Since there is a pump or fan as part of the unit it makes removing the marijuana vapor from the unit a lot easier.
Overall convection vaporizers are very effective and may be better than conduction vaporizers but there are still some disadvantages to them as well.
