While convection vaporizers are the preferred method for the fact that they are very efficient and reliable there are still reasons why some people may want to avoid using them. There are a few disadvantages to using and owning convection vaporizers. If you’re planning on purchasing a vaporizer then you will want to weigh your options and figure out which characteristics are more important.
Disadvantages
Convection vaporizers can be costly. The design is more detailed and it takes more effort and money to manufacture these devices. The reliability of convection vaporizers can also be an issue. While these units are reliable with heating the marijuana there are still issues that can occur. There could be the possibility of the crucible getting damaged and the pump or fan dying. It can be worrying knowing that there are more parts that could possibly malfunction or totally stop working.
Using a convection vaporizer can be quite a bit harder than using a conduction vaporizer as well. Usually using one of these vaporizers means you will have to do a few extra things to operate it properly. You will have to fill up the crucible, hook up the bag, and do various other small things. While this isn’t a major disadvantage it is still an added hassle.
If you can find a convection vaporizer in your budget it’d probably be the ideal vaporizer to choose but there are more factors than just the efficiency to consider. While conduction vaporizers are cheaper they also seem to have more disadvantages then convection vaporizers do.
