Three Heating Methods for Vaporizers

There are three main ways that a vaporizer can receive heat to vaporize the weed. Many popular brands of vaporizers use one of the methods and each has its own perks and downsides. The three ways that a vaporiser can receive heat include the convection method, conduction method, and using a torch lighter.

Convection Method

This is where a heating element is used to heat the air in the vaporizer. Usually there is a fan to keep the hot air flowing as well. The highest quality vaporizers use this method. This is the most popular method used with vaporizers and various models like the Aromed 4.0, HerbalAire, and Volcano Vaporizers all use this method.

Conduction Method

This is where the marijuana gets placed directly onto a hot (usually metal) plate and is vaporized in that spot. This is not a suggested method if you are looking for a high quality vaporiser. Some vaporizers still make units with this method and have a decent reputation. This would include BC vaporizers and the Noble Vapor VP300 model. Most vaporizers using the conduction method are cheaply made.

Torch Lighter Method

Alternatively you can use a butane gas lighter as long as the lighter uses blue flames. Usually this is only an option for vaporizers that are portable. The Shake & Vape, Vapbong, Vapo-bowl, VaporStar, and Vapo2 all need a lighter to work properly.
