History of Vaporizers |
People have used vaporizers to turn herbs into vapor for hundreds of years. Just in the last decade or so there has been a lot of attention on vaporizers and using them with marijuana. About fifteen years ago attention was brought to vaporizers as a marijuana plant grower in California publicized his method of vaporizing THC with a heat gun. The man was known as “Eagle Bill” and ever since then there has been a movement to attempt to make vaporizers easier to attain in the future for everybody.
Progress
Shortly after noticing that heat guns work to vaporize THC the man also designed the Shake and Vape model which was a variation of what the Egyptians did to heat herbs with heating stones. A year later a Canadian company created the very first electric vaporizer.
In 1995 the Vancouver Times publicized an article about how the vaporizer can heat the marijuana to a temperature where the THC gets vaporized but doesn’t burn the weed. The article also explained why a vaporizer is healthier than inhaling marijuana smoke.
In 1995 a man began designing vaporizers and created the De Verdamper vaporizer which has been altered a lot over many years. Now the De Verdamper is thought to be one of the most effective vaporizers available.
In 1996 a Germany man started creating vaporizers with the volcano design. There was a patent request filed for the volcano inhaler which is a part of their vaporizer. In 2000 the man designed a heating block to be used to exchange heat in certain vaporizer models. Later that year a company was officially created and the company began selling Volcano Vaporizers.
Not much attention has been brought to vaporizers for marijuana in the last few years. In 2006 there were some studies done on Volcano Vaporizers in relation to using it for marijuana. The results from this study (and previous ones done in the nineties) have very good results which suggest vaporizers are healthy and the wave of the future.
