One of the worst things about smoking marijuana from a bong, pipe, or joint is the fact that it leaves a strong scent in the environment around you. If a police officer showed up at your door that smell is enough to allow them to search your home without your permission or a warrant. Therefore in many cases it’s important to make sure you always mask the scent. It’s not too easy to hide the smell of marijuana from a bong, pipe, or joint though. However a vaporizer might be better as it’s close to odorless.
Scent
The smell from marijuana vapor is not like the smell you get from smoking marijuana in a bong, pipe, or joint. The smell will not be as potent and may go unnoticed from a distance. The type of marijuana you use in the vaporizer will play a role in how it smells when it’s vaporized too. It’s not as difficult to hide a hit of marijuana vapor as it would be to hide a hit from a bong.
If you have to take a ghost hit then it won’t be too hard with a vaporizer. Since there is relatively no smoke from the vaporizer there won’t be any reason to suspect that marijuana is being used. The vaporizer obviously isn’t small enough to hide easily but they are rather compact usually.
The reason why vaporizers usually don’t produce much of a scent is because the vaporizer just heats the marijuana and doesn’t actually burn it. The vapor mostly contains just THC and won’t have a scent but many people find that cheaper vaporizers do produce a minor scent. If you’re living by yourself or with people that are fine with your habit then there should be no reason why a vaporizer should raise suspicion with any neighbors.
